Brett began conducting brass bands professionally from 1999. Since then he has worked with a variety of brass bands abroad and in the UK. His first success was with the Lydbrook Band in 2000. Then in 2001 he was appointed Musical Director of the Longridge Band returning the band to the Championship section in the Northwest Area and conducting them during recording of their flagship CD Recording “Homeward”. Other bands he has conducted include the Illinois Band in the USA and Kew Band in Australia. Highlights include the Glory of Wales concert in 2005 for Sir Michael Parker in Denbigh. Brett now conducts a variety of bands throughout the UK on an advisory basis and has enjoyed much success in the contest arena with Northop and Ratby brass bands.
